Martha Nell Wrotenbery passed away at her home in Grand Prairie, TX, Tuesday morning, January 2, 2018, after a short illness in the hospital. She was born on December 30, 1924, in Tyler, TX, to Julian F. and Bessie L. Thedford. Martha had spent her formative years in Tyler, TX, and attended Tyler Commercial College upon her graduation from John Tyler High School. Martha Nell Wrotenbery passed away at her home in Grand Prairie, TX, Tuesday morning, January 2, 2018, after a short illness in the hospital. She was born on December 30, 1924, in Tyler, TX, to Julian F. and Bessie L. Thedford. Martha had spent her formative years in Tyler, TX, and attended Tyler Commercial College upon her graduation from John Tyler High School. She was considered to be a great asset to her high school serving as Vice President of the National Honor Society, Latin Club, Library Club, and Junior Historians. She was hired at 18 years of age by the Cotton Belt Railway to deliver company mail on a bicycle. Martha married C. Paxton Lunsford on February 24, 1948. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Tyler, taught children in Sunday school, and held other leadership positions as a deacon's wife. Her husband C. Paxton Lunsford passed away October 14, 1982. She completed 45 1/2 years with the company and retired as Revenue Accounting Secretary. After retiring, she married Clinton M. Wrotenbery on October 21, 1989, and moved to Grand Prairie, TX. She became a member of the FBC of Grand Prairie, participating in Sunday school, Serendipity Choir, Senior Adult Activities, Mission trips, etc. Martha volunteered regularly at the Grand Prairie Food Bank. She was an avid collector and member of the Precious Moments Club for many years. Martha wrote poetry for special people in her life, crocheted baby blankets as gifts to friends and family, gave speeches, enjoyed fishing, cooking, sewing, ministering to others in need, etc. She also loved reading books about famous people. Her husband Clinton M. Wrotenbery passed away January 5, 2017.

Martha is survived by her brother's wife Shirley R. Thedford of Fort Worth, TX, two daughters B. Lynn Johnson of Tyler, TX, and Carol K. Lunsford of Grand Prairie, Son-in-law E. Lynn Johnson and Carol's fiancÚ Gene Vaughn, Grandson Jason B. Johnson, wife Wendy, and great-grandson Triston A. Johnson of Fate, TX, and many nieces, nephews and other in laws. Children from her second marriage include Anne Donaldson of Plano, TX, David C. Wrotenbery of Sioux Falls, SD, and Jim P. Wrotenbery of Houston, TX.

Visitation is scheduled for Thursday, January 11, 2018, from 3:30-7:30 pm at Grand Prairie Funeral Home, 733 Dalworth St., Grand Prairie, TX, 75050, and Visitation on Saturday, January 13, 2018, at 1:00 pm at Burks-Walker-Tippit, 215 E. Front St., Tyler, TX. The Celebration of Life Service will follow at 2:00 pm. Graveside Service at Rose Hill Cemetery, 2400 S. Donnybrook Ave., Tyler, TX, 75701.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to FBC of Tyler, FBC of Grand Prairie, or Mission Arlington.
